Keng Seong She:
Absolutely. The KCIM Connector enables seamless integration between Kyocera’s Cloud Information Manager (KCIM) and our Efflux Cloud Capture (ECC) platform. It creates a fully automated path from document capture to secure cloud storage, complete with accurate indexing using either manual entry or intelligent, automated extraction.
Keng Seong She:
We identified a strong need among organizations already using Kyocera devices and KCIM who were still dealing with manual document workflows. The connector closes that gap—streamlining document intake, applying smart indexing, and pushing content into KCIM without additional user effort.
Keng Seong She:
End users experience faster, simpler workflows. Documents scanned via Efflux Cloud Capture are automatically indexed using extracted data—whether it’s from barcodes, form zones, or printed text—then securely delivered to KCIM. It eliminates repetitive data entry and ensures immediate availability in the KCIM repository.
Keng Seong She:
The connector supports both manual metadata entry and automatic data extraction. Using our Efflux Engine, we can perform zonal OCR, barcode recognition, pattern-based parsing, and even intelligent text classification. The extracted data is then mapped to the correct index fields in KCIM.
Keng Seong She:
With the embedded device client installed on the Kyocera MFP, users can select an ECC workflow directly from the panel. Documents are scanned and indexed right at the device—either through predefined templates or on-screen entry—and passed to Efflux Cloud Capture for processing before being sent to KCIM with all metadata intact.
Keng Seong She:
One of the biggest challenges was designing a robust and scalable mapping engine that could support varied KCIM configurations. Ensuring secure, consistent API communication was also critical. Additionally, we worked on optimizing OCR and barcode processing to maintain performance even in complex workflows.
Keng Seong She:
The Efflux Engine is the backbone of our capture and processing stack. It handles OCR, barcode decoding, classification, redaction, and metadata extraction. For this connector, it ensures that documents sent to KCIM are accurately indexed and optionally redacted, with sensitive content removed before storage.
Keng Seong She:
Certainly. Using the Efflux Engine, we support automatic redaction of predefined words, phrases, or regular expression matches. This is especially important for protecting personal or confidential information before documents are archived in KCIM. It adds an additional layer of security on top of existing compliance measures.
Keng Seong She:
The entire workflow is designed with compliance in mind—supporting GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulations. Documents are transmitted using secure, encrypted channels. User authentication is enforced at both the device and cloud levels. With features like redaction and access control, we ensure that only the right data is stored and visible in KCIM.

Efflux-Solutions is proud to be a Kyocera Cloud Platform Partner. This connector is the first in a series of exciting innovations we're launching in close collaboration with Kyocera Japan. We're working to bring intelligent automation and enhanced functionality to both Kyocera software and hardware products—delivering integrated solutions that align with Kyocera’s vision for digital transformation.
Keng Seong She:
Early adopters have been impressed by how much time the integration saves and how intuitive the workflows are—especially when using the embedded MFP client. The combination of redaction, auto-indexing, and seamless delivery to KCIM delivers both productivity and peace of mind. It's transforming how organizations handle cloud-based document management.
